What is a professional mini-split cleaning?
A professional mini-split cleaning goes beyond cleaning the air filter. We clean the internal areas of the indoor unit where dirt, dust, organic debris, and accumulated buildup can collect over time. Depending on the service, this can include the coil, blower wheel, drain, and other internal components.
Why does my mini-split smell musty?
Musty odors can develop when dirt, dust, moisture, and organic buildup accumulate inside the indoor unit. Cleaning the filter alone may not address buildup deeper inside the system. A professional deep cleaning focuses on those harder-to-reach areas.
My mini-split isn't cooling like it used to. Can cleaning help?
It can. Dirt and buildup on internal components can affect airflow and cooling performance. A professional cleaning may help improve airflow and cooling performance when buildup is contributing to the problem. However, cleaning cannot correct every cooling issue. If your system has a mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, or other underlying problem, additional HVAC service may be needed.
Does professional cleaning include the blower wheel?
Yes. Our Clinical Deep Cleanâ„¢ service includes blower wheel cleaning. The blower wheel is one of the areas where dirt and buildup can accumulate over time, and it's not something that can be properly cleaned by simply removing the filter.
Do you clean the coil?
Yes. Coil cleaning is included as part of our mini-split cleaning services. Keeping the coil clean helps maintain proper airflow and heat transfer through the system.
Do you clean the drain?
Yes. Drain cleaning/rinsing is included as part of our cleaning process. Keeping the drain area clean helps address accumulated debris and buildup that can develop inside the system.
How often should my mini-split be professionally cleaned?
It depends on the system, usage, and environment. As a general guideline, many homeowners benefit from professional cleaning at least once a year, while systems in dusty environments or homes with heavier use may need more frequent attention.
I clean my filters regularly. Do I still need professional cleaning?
Yes, potentially. Regular filter cleaning is important, but filters are only one part of the system. Dirt and buildup can still accumulate on internal components such as the blower wheel and coil. Professional cleaning reaches areas that aren't easily accessible during routine homeowner maintenance.
How long does a mini-split cleaning take?
The time depends on the condition of the system, the type of cleaning, and how much buildup is present. When you schedule, we'll provide an estimate based on your system and service.
Can you clean multiple mini-split units?
Yes. If you have multiple indoor units, let us know when you request an appointment. We'll help determine the appropriate service and pricing for your system.
Do I need to be home during the appointment?
Please confirm our current scheduling requirements when booking. If access to the mini-split and the necessary work area can be provided, we'll let you know whether you need to remain home during the service.
What types of mini-splits do you clean?
We specialize in ductless mini-split indoor units. If you're unsure whether your system is something we service, send us the make and model or a photo of the unit and we'll help you determine whether we can clean it.
Do you repair mini-splits?
Our primary specialty is professional mini-split cleaning and maintenance, not major system repair or replacement. If we identify an issue that appears to require repair, we'll let you know rather than attempting to solve a problem that goes beyond the scope of a cleaning.
Can cleaning fix a refrigerant leak or mechanical problem?
No. Cleaning cannot repair refrigerant leaks, failed components, electrical problems, or other mechanical issues. Our cleaning service is designed to address dirt and buildup that can affect the condition and performance of the system.
Will cleaning make my mini-split brand new?
Professional cleaning can make a significant difference in cleanliness, but results vary depending on age and condition. Our goal is to thoroughly clean the areas we can access and show you the difference with before-and-after documentation.
Do you remove mold?
Our focus is removal of dirt, dust, organic debris, and accumulated buildup. If significant microbial growth is observed, we'll explain what we see and discuss the appropriate next step rather than making promises about eliminating a health condition.
